Dr Naira Wilson set up the Little Therapy Room Practice in 2014, to deliver early intervention for psychological difficulties experienced by young people. Over the years the practice has grown to deliver a wider range of therapeutic services and interventions for parents, families and young adults.

Dr Naira Wilson is a Child Clinical Psychologist. She completed her degree in Psychology at the University of East London (1994) and her doctoral course in Clinical Psychology at Cardiff University (2005). She has also completed additional training in family therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, trauma focused treatments, compassion focused therapies including acceptance commitment therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy for young people with complex mental health difficulties.

 

Dr Wilson specialises in childhood mental health and has worked in the NHS, in various capacities, for 20 years. She has previously worked  extensively in a Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) for Oxford Health Foundation Trust. She is a guest lecturer for the Doctoral Course in Clinical Psychology at the University of Oxford and supervises other trained and in-training Clinical Psychologists and mental health professionals. 

Previously, Dr Wilson also worked as a Clinical Psychologist for the Oxford Autism and ADHD Centre offering assessment and treatment for Autism Spectrum Conditions and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. She was a contributor to the children's science publication Whiz Pop Bang and has published a series of books for young children about emotions with Little Tiger Press.

 She is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (Registration number: PYL22984) which is the body that monitor her practice. www.hpc-uk.org   

She will offer a warm and friendly space in which young people and their families can feel safe to talk openly and will work collaboratively to find solutions to support you when things feel difficult.
