How We Can Help
The Little Therapy Room is an independent psychology service working with families and young people up to the age of 21 who are experiencing a range of emotional difficulties. For example:
- Phobias
- Panic attacks
- Obsessions and compulsions
- Generalised anxiety and social anxiety
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Childhood trauma
- Depression
- Low self-esteem
- Self-harm
- Attachment difficulties
- Body image and eating problems - (this will be based on the specific need*)
- Autism Spectrum Conditions
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - * Should the young person have a significant weight deficit then we would recommend alternative care
As a parent or young person you may be worried about:
- Responses to a traumatic life event (including bereavement, divorce and separation, or abuse)
- Changes to behaviour, either at home or school (for example feeling withdrawn, isolated and having lost interest in activities or self-harm)
- Excessive anxiety in particular situations or many situations
- Repetitive behaviours that get in the way of life
- Significant weight loss; struggling to eat foods once enjoyed, or fussy with food
