How We Can Help

The Little Therapy Room is an independent psychology service working with families and young people up to the age of 21 who are experiencing a range of emotional difficulties. For example:

  • Phobias

  • Panic attacks

  • Obsessions and compulsions

  • Generalised anxiety and social anxiety

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

  • Childhood trauma

  • Depression

  • Low self-esteem

  • Self-harm

  • Attachment difficulties

  • Body image and eating problems - (this will be based on the specific need*)

  • Autism Spectrum Conditions

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

    * Should the young person have a significant weight deficit then we would recommend alternative care

As a parent or young person you may be worried about:

  • Responses to a traumatic life event (including bereavement, divorce and separation, or abuse)

  • Changes to behaviour, either at home or school (for example feeling withdrawn, isolated and having lost interest in activities or self-harm)

  • Excessive anxiety in particular situations or many situations

  • Repetitive behaviours that get in the way of life

  • Significant weight loss; struggling to eat foods once enjoyed, or fussy with food
